[PSA] how to sideload the 49GB install via torrent file

edit: Sorry, the torrent file is no longer maintained, but you can still download the file directly from Microsoft servers using a download manager with resume support.

**Only use this method if you are having problems with the Windows Store download restarting or if you get errors. **

I found a workaround for those on PC/Windows who have had problems with the download restarting on the Windows Store:

This method involves downloading the 49 GB .EAppx file directly from the Microsoft server which will be used to install the game.

You can download this file by the instructions in the reddit post above, which will generate a direct download link to the Microsoft servers.

Or you can download a torrent that I made of the file here:

Once you have the file downloaded, continue as per the instructions from step 7. onwards in the above post:

7. Start the download of FH3 in the Windows Store. This will acquire the license information for the game so it can be activated on first launch. After the download starts, pause the download and close the Store

8. Open the folder the install package is located in Windows Explorer, press Alt + D and type 'powershell' and hit Enter. (make sure you open powershell as Administrator - start menu, powershell, right click, use command chdir to change to the directory where the file is located)

edit: PATCH/UPDATE 2016-10-04

Update Windows to the latest version using Windows Update first.

After installing the game there will be a 1.89GB download in the Windows Store to update the game to the latest version. It does not really solve the performance issues everyone is having: https://www.reddit.com/r/forza/comments/55uvdc/pc_patch_report_thread/ Install game on primary drive to avoid issues such as the whole game downloading again.
